This project involved the complete development of the visual identity for Bloco Bouldering, the main indoor climbing space in Guimarães. The aim was to create a brand that could visually express the core values of the space: dynamism, challenge, community and inclusiveness. The identity was built around simple geometric forms inspired by the climbing holds and volumes found on the walls. The logo plays with solids and voids to evoke ideas of movement, progression and the spirit of bouldering itself. The colour palette, centred on vibrant blues and oranges, was chosen to convey energy, modernity and a striking contrast that adapts well across different applications. The project included the design of a cohesive graphic system that extended beyond the logo to symbols, icons, and functional signage for the physical space. I worked carefully on typographic choices to ensure legibility and a contemporary feel that reflects the atmosphere of the climbing gym. The identity was applied across social media, digital communication, event materials and merchandising — from t-shirts and stickers to posters. Special attention was given to ensuring that the visual system could scale effectively for small formats and digital use, without losing clarity or impact. Throughout the creative process, I focused on achieving a balance between aesthetics and functionality. The result is a flexible and vibrant identity that speaks to climbers of all levels, reinforces Bloco’s position as a hub for the local climbing community, and helps communicate its spirit of challenge, connection and shared experience.
