The great-grandfather Gaston travelled to sell buttons. He started by car, crossing Portugal from north to south, and later ventured through parts of Europe. Years later, always brave and curious, he began flying—reaching distant parts of the world. People travel for many reasons: to rest, to visit loved ones, for work, or to discover new places and cultures. Gaston's journeys were a mix of all of that—work, adventure, and a deep love for the unknown. This book is inspired by those travels. It began with a collection of photographs, but instead of creating a simple catalog, I chose to turn them into illustrations using collage. The result is a series of bold, colorful compositions that aim to capture the spirit of movement, discovery, and memory.
